There once was a little girl called Hannah. She was a bit lonely, so she always loved reading books. One day, as she drifted off to sleep, she heard a sound, so she crept downstairs and peeked behind a shelf.

She said, "Oh my. Two little elves." Suddenly, like he had super hearing, which he probably did because of his big ears, one of the elves quickly turned around. "Did you hear that?" he said in a squeaky voice. Hannah ducked behind the stairway. "It's probably nothing," the other one said.

Hannah had a million questions like who were these guys, what were they doing in her house, how could they speak? She then remembered that elves were a Christmas myth. She looked at the date; it was Christmas Eve. How could she forget?

She snuck closer to the elves. POOF! They disappeared into thin air, taking poor Hannah with them. POOF! They appeared in what you would call a child's dream. There were toys everywhere, but Hannah was so panicked that the only thing she could think about was escaping.

She grabbed an old elf costume, ran to the changing room, and put it on. As she came out, she followed one of the other elves into a friendly room. As she entered, Hannah made a quick gasp. Santa Claus! He was just an old man she had believed in.

"And who might you be, pardon me?" Santa asked Hannah in a kind voice. "I am Elena," Hannah mumbled and went up to him.

"Excuse me, sir, but there is someone outside fussing about talking to you," one of the other elves said.

"Bring him in," Santa said. And in came a little elf. "Santa, Santa, you need to hide quick! While I was feeding the reindeer, I heard two mysterious people talking about kidnapping you while you are posting," he said.

"I just hope it's not too late," Hannah said. There was panic in the air. Santa had been kidnapped on the day before Christmas! Hannah had already revealed herself to the elves. "Hannah, you're our only hope now, help us!" one elf said.

"Don't worry, I know just how to fix this," she said and opened the book. "The Orb of Christmas." The attic was dusty and full of old toys. Hannah searched through until she found what she needed. The Orb glowed brightly into Hannah's face. She held it and pressed a button that would make Santa come back.

POOF! "Santa's back. Thank you, Hannah," an elf said.

"Time for you to go, young lady. Thank you so much once again," said the elf.

"Hey, honey, it's Christmas, wake up!" Hannah woke up immediately and carried on with her day and kept thinking about her dream.
